Just Warming Up
I don't own a fully fledged vacuum tube amp as they were always too expensive for me when I was younger and still a beginner with electric guitars.
I then reached a dark period where I never touched my electric guitars, tried writing music, or simply practice new techniques.
Some time last year, it all came rushing back to me. My love of guitars... which was a hobby long before I wanted to take up digital photography as a hobby.
However, even taking into account my dark years, my skills are not directly proportional to the number of years playing (lol...), and with the latter statement, I still think an amp with a tube preamp and power amp, is still too much for my current skills (and yeah, well money, too lol). But I found a happy medium and got a tube hybrid amp (tube preamp and solid state power amp) in the Orange Micro Terror and the Orange Micro Dark last year.
So here we are, I wanted to get that subtle glow that vacuum tubes have when they warm up.
Will I ever get a fully fledged tube amp in the future? As I continue to rediscover my love for playing the guitar, and writing more and more songs, trying new techniques, but still not really that great of guitar player as I wish to be, I will admit, I am slowly getting my confidence and I already have a full tube amp in my wish list.
