Like Mother, Like Son

As with my father, whom I got my itch for photography from, I got my love for music and that of guitars from my mother.

I wanted to learn the piano at first when I was in highschool, but my hands said no, and instead I picked up my mother's old classic guitar, a Yamaha G-85A, from the 1970's.

The one I'm pictured with is the same exact guitar she was playing in the photo my father took of her in 1975.

Now, before anyone saiys "that isn't the actual way to hold and play a classical guitar...", I know... I don't play a lot of classical guitar, even if this was the first guitar I learned from, but when I do, I do try and have the right posture that most classical guitars players have.

Unlike the shot I copied my father of, I didn't try and copy my mother's pose or even try and color match as much. But the very essence of the shot is still there... Simply... Like Mother, Like Son... buy showing me playing with the very same guitar she had in 1975, with my guitars and other guitar gear in the shot.

One time, I should take a photo of me and mother "jamming" to some of her favorite tunes.
