I first saw this type of shot way back in 2011 or 2012 when I was still learning how to better shoot with external flashes and truth be told, I always wanted to do this kind of shot as a self-portrait, but well, gotta give it to my buddy here who was nice enough to be the human light stand during our improptu photoshoot. He was clutch!
