Hike at Ásmundarstakkur

Τhe wild untamed island of Suðuroy lies at the most southern point of the Faroe Islands archipelago. For those seeking an exhilarating adventure off the beaten path, the remote island of Suðuroy is the answer. This island is a hidden gem of the Faroe Islands, a rugged and windy landscape overflowing with wild beauty and incredible hiking trails waiting to be discovered. This is the Ásmundarstakkur in Sandvík, Suðuroy, Faroe Islands for amazing views despite crazy winds. There is a visible path, parking at a farm, and following a wire along the trail. The hike is about 1.5 miles each way with an elevation gain of 1000ft. The most challenging aspect is the wind, but overall, it is a great trail. Typically in June, the area may experience some fog, making it useful to follow the wire to the bridge for guidance. Highly recommend!
