Annapurna I

The snow-dusted moraine of Annapurna Glacier with the South Face of Annapurna I (8091m) towering in the background, at this point partially obscured by some rapidly moving clouds.Annapurna I was summited in 1950 by a French team led by Maurice Herzog. It was the first of the 8,000 m peaks to be successfully climbed.Taken not far from Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m.
