Chin Chin Labs; temporary home of unicorns... (Surface Pro, Fresh Paint, Wacom Feel pen, Nomad brush).
So, yes I know this ain't a great painting, but has been very therapeutic for me to do hence sharing it.
I recently lost my bestie, and my best Chin Chin buddie*. This has led me to a huge amount of thinking and mulling and, somehow (including an odd conversation with daughter about possible Chin Chin flavours) that led to this.
The painting started going wrong from the get go, and isn't really what I had in mind. But for a few blissful hours my mind was at peace, slinging painty pixels around.
And if you don't know what Chin Chin Labs is? Shame on you :) its a fabulous purveyor of liquid nitrogen ice cream in Camden Market, London. They do a smooth Vanilla, a rich Chocolate and the most bonkers special flavours you can image (green grass? Coconut sun cream? Basil Choc Chip? All very yum). Fizzing pop(Uni)corn doesn't seem at all out of place on the menu really.
*actually it's a bit more complex than that. But a weird and fabulous year of work and brilliantly happy chaos has now changed and although it was amazing to be a part of, and next year - work wise - has the capacity to be similarly awesome, the best part of thr team I was in has now gone and it's a hole that will never be filled. That said? Better today than I was yesterday, same true of the day before. Getting on with getting on, touch screen often part of the process....
