Manmade waterfall on Stock Ghyll Beck, Ambleside, Cumbria
After a fairly long walk the previous day we decided a shorter walk would be good idea and went to see the waterfalls on Stock Ghyll Beck. Just below the waterfalls is this impressive wear, built to speed the flow of water through the less steeply inclined section of river that was used to power up to seven watermills in Ambleside. Drawn with a Derwent Graphik 0.1 and Staedtler Pigmentliner 0.05 pens in an A6 pocket size Moleskine sketchbook.
