Cheese press
A homemade cheese press, of interdeterminant age, which was used in a farmhouse on West Yorkshire for several generations. I sketched it from a photograph in the book "Life and Tradition in the Yorkshire Dales" by Marie Hartley and Joan Ingilby (1968) as I did research for a reconstruction drawing. The wooden bar was drawn down on the cheese mould, or chesford, bet cranking the wooden wheel and then a stone weight was suspended from the crook of the bar. Drawn with a Staedtler Pigment Liner pen.
