815A7433 A Hike on a Hillside (Explore)

I totally admit, that when you look upon this plain image there's not much to see really, a hillside devoid of green grass, but, if you look closely you can see the trails where perhaps long ago ancient people once roamed this part of the earth. And for a short brief time, I too joined them alone on this seemingly ordinary hillside.

I spent hours hiking all across this hillside alone. For me personally, this was a major high point of my weekend here. I felt so fortunate to be in good physical shape where I could thoroughly enjoy myself hiking and crisscrossing this hillside under a beautiful warm day. I felt so free and relaxed here with no social constraints. There's something magical about a hillside that compels and draws people to walk upon her. Maybe it's our ancient spiritual ancestors deep inside all of us calling out, yearning to be free once more and to walk upon a path. It was with reluctance when I finally had to come down.......

May your hikes be as pleasant my friends.

I hope to have an opportunity to come back in the spring when the hillside turns that lovely shade of green and calls for me to once more walk upon her.

1700 Walker Creek Ranch is a retreat located off of the Marshall Petaluma Rd (out of Petaluma) about 6 miles from highway 1 which runs along the California coast. Located there is also the Marin County Office of Education.
