Sprout
This photo was taken on a Nikon D3000, in the early afternoon on an autumn day. It depicts a sprout growing out of concrete, in a wall on the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way and Jefferson. I used a short depth of field to emphasize the sprout and blur out the concrete behind it to draw emphasis to the various tones and shades in the leaves of the sprout. I used Photoshop to saturate it and emphasize these tones. I think the image conveys a greater message as well, about how beautiful things can grow out of the most nondescript and forgettable places.
