A. fascicularis lives on sheltered shores under stones that are partly embedded in water-retentive muddy sand on the lower shore , also under rocks in pools up to MTL and sublittorally to about 50 metres. Eulittoral specimens and, in Croatia, those from shallow water of less than 2m, are often larger than those from deeper water.
