Outlaw LC - A Vanishing Act
Boethius woke in a cold sweat. He rolled over in his bed. Like a sunrise, light crept through his windows. Yet it was night. Boethius approached the windows. The light was emulating from a series of torches. Suddenly, Marcurio burst through the door.
"Boethius! Boethius!" Marcurio yelled. "What?! What is it Marcurio?" "Boethius, you must leave. Those torches are the town guard. They are searching for any outlaws." Boethius paused for a few seconds. "Why are they looking for outlaws?" "Because of the recent rebellions! Please you must go!" Marcurio was frantic.
Boethius gathered his belongings. "Where will I go?" "Oh yes! Head east. Through the woods. There you will meet a group of necromancers-" "Necromancers?" "Yes. I know their leader. He helps me gather materials for alchemy. But that's not important. When you come upon them, announce your self. Otherwise you'll either be burnt to a crisp." "They'll burn me to a crisp?" Marcurio gave a slight chuckle. "Yes. They are masters at magic use. But when you come up on them, say I'm a friend of Marcurio's. They'll then greet you like one of their own."
The Lenfalds slowly, but steadily, checked many of the houses around them. It was almost their turn. "We must hurry Boethius." he was even more frantic. "After you meet with the Necromancers, stay in camp until sunrise. Then travel farther east, until the forest starts to thin out. It's not far. That's where you'll find the local docks. I'll be waiting for you there."
A pounding on the door alerted them both. "I'll distract the guards, you go out back." "I'll see you at the docks Marcurio."
Boethius slipped out the back. He went into the night, east.
He later met the necromancers. Unfortunately, a group of guards followed Boethius to the camp. A great battle ensued. Boethius used his new dagger on some Lenfalds, and the necromancers made quick work of the others.
Boethius then set out for the docks.
