Artist’s Description of the Piece:
When we sit in meditation we can cultivate the ability to see beyond our typical boundaries and illusions. This ceramic piece represents someone who has sat down to meditate and has let go of their conditioned mind patterns of identifying with a separate self and has come into touch with truth. The high fire glaze running over the body represents the release. The colors of this sitter represents the fruits that can come through the process of sitting through our aversions and sufferings represented by the high fire.
Questions:
1. How does this piece relate to Dharma?*
The piece offers a direct pointer at the realization of no-self. Integral to that realization is letting go of illusions and mind created boundaries and concepts which obscures the realization of no-self.
