Red wax ginger

Indonesian Wax Ginger, Red Wax Ginger, Pineapple Ginger, Giant Spiral Ginger, Torch Ginger or Backscratcher Ginger, also known as devil's pineapple, Tapeinochilos ananassae, is a rainforest plant native to north eastern Queensland, New Guinea, and Indonesia. It's not a true ginger being in the family Costaceae. Torch ginger is also the common name of a true ginger.
