traditional awning Windmill Market

Helping finalize Walcott Adams Verneuille Architects’ green vision, Artcraft Awning was contacted based on a referral to help convert a pre-existing building into

Fairhope’s Windmill Market.

The market features 65 open-air spaces that change each weekend offering

produce, arts and crafts and the awnings were an essential part in completing the entirely sustainable location.

By extending the market’s roof, the awnings provide shade and weather protection for perimeter vendors. In addition to providing a practical use for the market, the awnings have also proved important in completing the market’s “green” aesthetic appeal.

“The awnings were such an important part of the

transition of the old run-down building into the market we have today,” said Mac Walcott,

Windmill Market’s architect.

Providing shade, weather protection, and visual appeal, our awnings have helped Windmill Market transition a pre-existing building into its current uniquely green, sustainable location.
