Next time on Woody's Roundup: The Battle of the Blizzard

Mid-winter 1871, near Promontory, Utah. The first transcontinental railroad (of which the two sides were joined close to this area in May 1869) is being traveled by Woody and Jessie westward to talk to an enigmatic figure in California: the eccentric millionaire Doctor Porkchop. The Doctor has recently bought the deeds to the town of Roundup and much surrounding land of the area Woody is supposed to patrol as Sheriff. (almost as if by magic, people's homes and farms are being sold under them) Couple this with the fact people are being forcefully resettled away from the area, has Woody and Jessie worried about Porkchop's plans for "his" town.

In fact, Dr. Porkchop is in league with the gold prospector Stinky Pete who had discovered a black sticky liquid coming out of one of his mines a few months back. He sent the liquid to a chemist (none other than Dr. Porkchop himself) in California who offered to buy his land wholesale. Pete doesn't own the land his mine sits on as it runs right under Roundup and Woody's feet. So, Pete forged the land sale documents for Porkchop and in return he will become the Doctor's manager of the oil drilling site once Woody and Jessie are "dealt with".

The train's engine features "mechanical difficulty", and limps into the town of Promontory. Most of the passengers and crew stay the night in the hotel, while Woody and Jessie stay in the station waiting room for word back from Porkchop about the delay in their travel via the telegraph, which has been disabled shortly after their message was sent. (Pete had snuck aboard in the caboose and forcefully took the place of the conductor just after the train stopped at Promontory, and then cut the wires leading away from town)

Of course, Porkchop isn't in California, he was waiting in Promontory all along for the train to breakdown due to Pete's meddling with it. Unknown to Pete, however, the evil Doctor Porkchop has no intention of letting any of them leave the town alive except for himself: all the other ten "passengers" on the train are hired guns with orders to shoot everyone but Porkchop!
