Sharon United Methodist Church

Sharon UMC is a small country church at the crossroads of Henry County Road P and State Route 109. Featuring a traditional worship service and a friendly congregation, we are currently striving to reach out to new members.

The reason I chose to photograph my church is because to me it's part of our outreach program. We don't have very many members left, and having some good quality photographs I feel can be useful to this end. To me the "boot camp" assignment was simply a motivator to get started on a project I had already planned, just hadn't started yet...

Strobist: Two light setup; both lights are concealed by the right pillar. One SB-16 on the MD setting (1/16 power) at the 120mm beam setting, aimed at the canopy's lamp to sumilate the incandescant lamp. One Sunpak 522 at full power aimed through the door into the entryway again to simulate the room lights being on. The SB-16 was triggered by a PT-04 remote, the Sunpak was optically slaved.
