Wellington,NZ 1950.The first two Octopus in NZ with (L-R) Charlie Robinson,the owner; unknown; Joe Tatham,LMNZ manager. Charlie Robinson ran these two trucks with trailers carting sawn timber from Kinleith to the Port of Tauranga in direct,and illegal, opposition to the Railways all the while doing battle in the courts with the NZR,who ultimately won the case after two years.One of the trucks is thought to have gone to RFL.(via Gavin Abbot)
