It was a pleasant surprise to stumble across this particular vista on a recent trip to Wales. Our hit rate on fine days in Wales is not great so with a promising forecast, we decided to push the boat out and plot a lengthy round trip route to an area just north of the Brecon Beacons from our base in the valleys.

 

This unexpected viewpoint came on the return leg and was probably the highlight of that particular trip. More so than the ever narrowing rutted dirt track we had found ourselves on a little earlier thanks to my mate Tom, who always knows a good shortcut!
