Little Red Trawler

Taken at one of my local haunts, this viewpoint is looking across Chichester Harbour from Thorney Island towards Emsworth.

This snap has been sitting in my 'shall I post it' file for far too long now... but today's the day!

In an otherwise monochrome image, I have left this one little fishing trawler in its original pillar box red colour. This is of note because, as I recall, two days after I took this snap, that boat, along with several others, broke their moorings in a storm and ended up beached on the shoreline.

As one of the more photogenic boats in the harbour, this registered with me and it was a great shame. However a few days later it re-appeared on it's mooring but it had now been painted a slightly different colour. Obviously the owner saw a silver lining to that particular cloud and I'm guessing he took the opportunity to give it a makeover while it was beached.

So there you go, a historical and emotional reason for leaving the little red trawler in it's original colour!

Thanks for viewing as always.
