Hellcat
Today's story and sketch "by me" is the first sighting of
the "Hellcat lawn Chair Flyer" here at the "FSU" flying stuff universities advanced test flight area, (advanced test flight area is for gliders that didn't crash within ten minutes).
The Hellcat is a beautiful example of a graceful, yet functional design, it has a super slick waxed cardboard skin,
over the bamboo airframe, around a beechwood low back lawn chair Doris picked up at a yard sale in Peralta Hills.
The glider has a low drag coefficient, "meaning aerodynamically slippery".
The Hellcat was designed by the young Martian Doris Kagler,
with the help of Willard Wank the FSU blacksmith and an excellent bamboo bender and fabricator. Doris has been very successful lately having only three of her last five lawn chair gliders crash on their first flight. To help keep that string
of success, Doris asked her boyfriend and test pilot Captain
Ping the Lardassian test pilot, who you see in the hellcat.
And below you see former test pilot Frederico Fugu, who after his tenth crash in a lawn chair flying machine was demoted
to driving chase vehicles and FSU clean up machines, today
he is driving a Dodge Challenger Earth Cruiser.
Fred seems very happy not flying, his last crash put him
in the FSU trauma center for six months not for physical
injuries, but for emotional issues, he is extremely afraid
of water, after the gliders anti gravity propulsion malfunction he crash landed in the pacific ocean near Santa Catalina Island, He was able to kick his way out of the lawn chair seat
restraints and swim 23 miles to Long Beach, borrowed a cell
phone and beach towel from a nice young lady named Shaundra Shine, (who he is still dating) more on her story another time
until then taa ta the Rod Blog.
