the ultimate in repairable tanks Sherman were quickly dragged back to repair yards and put back into actions.. German notably when possible would never leave a Sherman behind without repeatedly firing into it till it start burning.. only way to prevent it returning to action... all parts fit the next Sherman so one scrapped Sherman could put 4 or 5 others back into action....
