Some images of our industrial past.

Something I've been meaning to capture for some time, this is the former Fawley Power Station, now in the process of demolition.

Built between 1965 and 1969 and commissioned in 1971, Fawley was an advanced oil fired power station. However, mainly due to the cost of oil, Fawley did not operate continuously, but came on line at times of high demand.

It was operational until March 2013.

Demolition commenced in 2017, and the site and associated dock is currently used for storage and transportation of Wind Turbine blades constructed on the Isle of Wight by Vestas.

Take a look now, because by the end of 2020 most of this (including the iconic chimney) will be gone.
