RATP Paris Buses 3643 & 7739 on Boulevard Beaumarchais 090813

On the left in this view taken on Boulevard Beaumarchais we see RATP Irisbus Citelis Line 3643 of November 2009 heading for Gare St-Lazare with a service 20 journey from the Gare de Lyon. To the right also bound for Gare St-Lazare, but with a service 29 journey from Porte de Montempoivre, is Renault Agora V2 7739 which entered the fleet in August 2001. These two vehicles will shortly part company and then make their way by different routes before possibly meeting up again at Opera just three stops from the Gare St-Lazare.

Service 29 was one of the last to be operated by buses with rear open platforms and in this shot it can just be seen that the latter vehicle also retains fleet number 7739 on the licence plate, which was once common Paris practice. However, it seems that some other older fleet members and indeed all new vehicles now carry orthodox registration plates.
