Pretoria City Center
A capture of part of the Pretoria Central Business District, taken from the top of the hill at the National Zoological Gardens in Pretoria. Pretoria is one of South Africa's three Capital Cities, being the site of the Executive branch of government. Cape Town is the Legislative capital, being home to parliament, and Bloemfontein is the Judicial Capital. Pretoria falls into the municipal jurisdictional area known as Tshwane. This is now a northern extension of the Gauteng/Greater Johannesburg 'megalopolis' or mega-conurbation.
Strangely, this was a rather difficult capture. It was an uncommonly hazy day, so capturing detail and definition were compromised. Rather than using a circular polarizing filter, I tried various settings and settled for 1/250 sec, the camera's base ISO of 200 and an aperture of f 18 !! I also raised the menu sharpness to +2 and the highlight and shadows settings to +1 each.
