Sonora Pass
I thought I would post a couple photos of Sonora Pass, along Highway 108 over the Sierra Nevada Range. This is the next road north from Highway 120, now closed due to the Rim Fire. The fire crews are making a concerted effort to prevent the fire from reaching the 108 corridor -- it would be extremely difficult to fight the fire in the steep canyons of this rugged area. These photos also give a good sense of what the terrain is like east of the fire.
