Sycamore Canyon
Sycamore Canyon is one of the oldest designated Wilderness Areas in Arizona; it was originally a Forest Service "Primitive Area" prior to the Wilderness Act of 1964. It is the second largest canyon in the Arizona redrock country, after Oak Creek Canyon.
This view from the end of the road gives an enticing peek at the tree-lined Sycamore Creek just before it joins the Verde River. Also not the rugged cliffs on the right side of the image. We had set an ambitious agenda for the day which unfortunately did not leave enough time to walk down and back, so we will have to return!
Thanks, as always, for your visit and all of your support. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!
