Rhododendron
One of the rhododendrons Osgood Mackenzie brought from the Himalayas to the Inverewe garden in Wester Ross. The rhododendrons flourish here, thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream and Mackenzie's foresight to plant over 40 hectares (100 acres) of woodland to shelter the garden. I love this rhododendron's multilayered circles of bells and its very large leaves.
