The Badger and the Bear

Macro Mondays

Once Upon a Time

This Lakota tale of the Badger and the Bear illustrates the pitfalls of turning on those who have helped you; and the good badger comes out ahead in the end.

The figures are Zuni fetishes, each about 1.5 inches in length and less than 1 inch wide. The red badger represents the direction south, while the black bear (depicted in blue turquoise) represents the direction west.

HMM! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all.
