Roc Trevezel

The Roc Trevezel is the highest peak in Brittany - 1,260 ft (384 m) in altitude. After the 14,000 ft (4,250 m) mountains of the Eastern Sierra, this seems barely a hill, but we did want to see the highest point in Brittany -- and it was worth the drive and a scramble up.

The summit provides spectacular panoramic views of most of Brittany. There are no trees, and scrubby vegetation on the wind whipped summit, and it seems more alpine than it is. The surrounding mountains that seem higher than they really are and eventually dissolve into rolling farmlands.

Happy Wednesday. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.
