Lake Sabrina

Lake Sabrina formed when the middle fork of Bishop Creek was dammed in 1908. The dam was built to supply a constant flow of water to the hydraulic power plants in the Bishop Creek system. Lake Sabrina is located in the Inyo National Forest, and the John Muir Wilderness area is just to the west (the mountains behind the lake in this image). The lake is very low due to the ongoing drought in California; hopefully El Nino will bring lots of precipitation this winter.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments. They are all important to me.
