Chris Schmuck Mack 45to electric conversion
Chris Schmuck designed a body for a N scale 45to Mack Switcher (I think the Lehigh Valley was the only line that bought them) . Had it converted to HO size by Matt Ditch; however I then decided not to do a true to prototype model but to convert it to an electric steeplecab.
As I found no suitable drive I modified a truck from a brass ALCO DH-643 by removing the idler gear from the gear tower and moving the unpowered axle to the center of the truck to match the resin sideframes.
Removed the resin roof with the radiators and substituted a flat brass roof with a pantograph.
It now runs on DCC and has two large steam type headlights and two small ones for yard operations.
paint is inspired by the scheme the Milwaukee electrics and diesels wore in the Thirties.
