This area is called the "Workhouse". It was minimum security prison, built in the TDR age as part of the progressive movement's reform initiatives. It first housed drunks and vagrant men in the early 1900s, then for women- especially suffragettes- that was abandoned in the late 1990s. It so now a series of artists studios and an arts center.
