The road to Afela Wissa - Looking back towards Tamri
On a 24 km walk from Tamri and back, to the old Glaoua kasba at Afela Wissa. I followed the road to the left out of the village, No traffic at all that afternoon. Two berber women followed me for most of the way to the kasbah, occasionally overtaking me as they scrambled up the mountainside to cut off the hairpin bends. Unresponsive at the start of the walk, their smiles grew broader each time we passed, finally waving me on my way.
