Agadir - River Valley at Aourir - Imi Mikki

A fortnight before this was taken it rained heavily and continuously for about a week. What is a trickle here was then a torrent rising high up the river banks. Houses were badly damaged and gardens washed away in the village 2 km to the west. As I made my way from Aourir, the narrow track on the south side of the river was still littered with large boulders and uprooted trees. Labourers without heavy lifting gear were using picks to break up the rocks to cart them away.. The destructive power of natural forces is a constant in this part of Morocco.
