Any ideas?

Hi I don't know if anyone can help, but I saw quite of these birds on the electricity lines, so I took some photos. I cropped one to make it nearer the bird to put on here, unfortunately I couldn't get close enough to get a decent photo for iding, as they were above a field close to houses. I have seen linnets here before but I don't think it looks like one. They were taken in south west Britain. Any help welcomed =).
