Gray Fox
At Pacheco Creek, Pacheco Valle, Novato. A native species to California, commonly found in mixed woodland, chaparral, riparian, shrub habitats, and even urban environments. They're excellent hunters and one of the few canids that can climb trees, using their strong, hooked claws. This fox surprised me. When I looked to the creek from the creek path, we had a brief stare-off, then I calmly took some shots, and then watched foxy calmly walk back down to the creek.
