Thorny Rose Bush

Through natural selection this bush has evolved a defense mechanism that most other bushes do not have. It has thorns on its branches which protect it from predators. Natural Selection does not cause the thorns to evolve. They are the product of random mutations with in the plant and many generations of growth.
