In the outer oval of the GAR circle at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Through good research and some good luck I now know this man is Lieutenant John Forsythe of Company L of the 102nd Pennsylvania Infantry. This is confirmed by cemetery records. And I will re-post him in all the groups.

The 102nd Pennsylvania Infantry was organized at Pittsburgh in August, 1861 and mustered out on June 28, 1865. They were at the Seven Days Battles, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spottsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Appomattox, and many other battles. They were present at the surrender of General Lee and took part in the Grand Review on June 8th, 1865. The regiment lost 10 Officers and 171 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 81 Enlisted men by disease for a total of 263.
