On Wednesday September 14th, 2011, at approximately 1600 hours, Detectives from the Narcotics Borough Manhattan Tactical Response Team stopped a vehicle during the course of an investigation within the confines of the 43rd Precinct. While speaking to the operator of the vehicle detectives noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. When questioned about the odor the driver indicated that there was marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. Two large bags of marijuana, weighing approximately 25 pounds, were recovered and the driver was arrested..
Subsequent to the car stop the continued investigation led detectives to 1122 Taylor Ave in the Bronx were a second male was observed exiting the location with similar bags to the ones already seized. That observation led to a second vehicle stop and the seizure of an additional 16 pounds of marijuana. As a result of the seizures a search warrant was secured for 1122 Taylor Ave where an additional 310 pounds of marijuana was seized by detectives. There were no additional arrest during the execution of the search warrant..
