Pit Fired Pots
This is a group of pots that were pit fired during a firing we had at our house. The one on the left in the front row is mine. The others were made by other potters that also participated in the pit firing. The pots were thrown on the wheel, then chemicals and organic materials were added that react with the flames in the firing to cause various effects on the pots. This was our first pit firing and it was very successful.
