Technical Summary

The first stage of the process was to do research on a character and a quote. Off the bat I knew which film I wanted to quote – ‘The Big Lebowski’. I did not, however, know which quote I wanted to use so I went through a list of the famous quotes from the film in IMDB’s website. Eventually I found a quote that I thought would be fun and interesting to use. When I was researching the character I found a fantastic picture of Logan (Wolverine), which was stylised to make him look miniature:

This picture was drawn by MARR-PHEOS on deviantArt. I used this picture as the basis of my model.

I then modeled half of the head and duplicated it over, adding bits to make it less symmetrical (broken nose, different neck tendons/muscles, etc.). Then I modeled half of he body and duplicated it over again. I joined all these separate meshes together and then moved on to rigging.

I first created a skeleton, skinned it and painted the weights. This was bad to do before I created the blend shapes because it caused errors, which I eventually sorted out, after much messing around. I created blend shapes to make the mouth sync with the phonemes of the quote I had chosen.

I then synced the lip shapes with the words from the quote, and added some animation in the body. After all this I created a scene and lit it suitably.
