Commuter Shuffler

Doing the switching work at Third & Townsend one day was SP H-12-44 2360. The 1953 Fairbanks-Morse product was getting a trio of cars positioned for a commute run. The trio of cars consisted of a pair of heavyweight suburban coaches and lightweight coach 2202, the latter being an experimental attempt at a high capacity (122 seat) commute coach. The car had previously been a 48 seat long-distance coach. The experiment was not repeated due to public disatisfaction with the car. Note the massive "trashcan" style lights mounted on each end of 2360, a classic SP feature.
