Delivery Day

Beyer Patton photo

Heading down the Golden branch, C&S SD9 833 is shoving the two latest acquistions by the Colorado Railroad Museum toward their new home. Farthest away is C&S Rotary 99201, a Cooke product of 1899. On the flatcars is UP 0-6-0 4455 which was built by Lima in 1920. 4455 had been sold to the Monolith Portland Midwest Cement company in 1949 and operated at their plant until 1970. The loco was donated to CRRM in September 1972 and this photo was likely taken sometime during that or the next month. Both the rotary and the 0-6-0 would be stored on a short piece of track across from the museum until 2008 when they were finally moved onto museum property.
