CLM Leasing SD39 5325

Bob Jordan photo

CLM 5325 was built in April of 1970 as Southern Pacific 5325. It would eventually be sold to a CLM Leasing. It would pass into the hands of Andesite Rock, where it, along with another ex-SP SD39, would be repainted in faux Rio Grande colors and appear in the film Switchback, before being used for a short time in the late 1990s to shuttle rock between Commerce City, CO and Carr, CO (at this time, it became ANDX 4028). The operation would be taken over by the Dakota & Iowa, at which time, the loco was sold to DAIR and moved to their Dell Rapids, SD operation. It would operated on the DAIR up through 2014, after which it was sold to ITSX and was last seen in March of 2019 down in Texas. This photo was taken in one of two places, either Dell Rapids, SD or near Carr, CO.
