I attempted to better the photo of my cat. Unfortunately Merlin had other plans, so I substituted Albert. I think that this photo improves on my earlier shot in many ways. Firstly, the sisal rug adds a great contrasting color and texture to the white fur. Also, I have managed to capture the moistness of his nose, which I think gives life to the subject. It is hard to say what message the photo conveys, but I hope that it makes people smile as that is what I was doing while trying to get the shot. This shot fills the criteria for texture, lighting and to a certain extent line. The jury is still out on whether it lives up to the composition criteria outlined in the handbook.
