Ugandan troops arriving in Mogadishu to occupy the country on behalf of the US. The African Union has ostensibly accepted a peacekeeping mission in Somalia without consultation with the Al-Shabab resistance movement.
The movement which has demonstrated the most support and organization on the ground, Al-Shabab and Hizbul Islam have been excluded from the current political system being imposed by the United States on Somalia. The military in Ethiopia, supported and coordinated by the Americans, had occupied the country from December 2006 until January 2009. Uganda has sent troops who have come under fire by the Somali resistance.
