Spirit Mountain Dawn
Many have probably seen this shot posted elsewhere by now, so might as well flickr it. After an all day drive from Glendive, Montana to the DMVW, and an all afternoon chase, I set off for Duluth. I didn't have enough time to rest at a hotel or airbnb and have it be justifiable, so I tried for a car nap. In four hours of trying to make the best of it I managed a meager 30 minutes or so rest in the parking lot at a Kwik Trip before giving up on sleeping and heading to see what was going on at the docks. I found this guy departing, and after a couple sunrise images I headed for the overpass hoping for some nice glint light, and it worked out well! Yeah, the CN in this area, and this vantage point in particular, are overdone, but I'd argue that the overdoing is warranted.
