Southern Comfort foods...

A few days ago I escaped from the daily hospital visits to feed my soul with the beauty of the "Low Country" as we call it here.

There was the first Annual Celebration of a community called "Pin Point" started by the descendants of the slaves that were freed many many years ago who settled on several of the islands around Savannah...This is the ONLY one that hasnt been bought by the Government and funded.

Their way of life was simple and the foods that nourished them came from the river and the salt water marshes they settled in.The foods were shrimp, crabs, fish and seemed always plentyfull. Here the image depicts a "Low Country Boil"consisting of fresh Blue Crabs, shrimp, boiled red potatoes sausage and corn on the cob seasoned in a special blend of seasonings...absolute heaven!!! Thanking those keeping us in your prayers and thoughts.Next week starts Chemotherapy and Radiation...praying I can stay positive and blessed in this health crisis and a blessing to my husband and family...
