Green Winged Orchid
Green Winged Orchid (Anacamptis morio)
Very rare apparently, a protected species. There were loads of them growing here on Minchinhampton Common in Gloucestershire. I'd never noticed them before and assumed they were all Early Purples but a friend of mine has correctly spotted the green ribs on the petals and the lack of spots on the leaves.
To the right is a Cowslip, very common around here but rare elsewhere
